CDMS Political Statement
CDMS Community Defence Marshalling System (CDMS) is a Marshalling School open to all activists. We are an anti-colonialist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist united front, and all people who support these principles are welcome to participate in all our activities, within CDMS rules.
We are focused on supporting working class and Indigenous struggles, oppressed groups and community defence activities.
We support international solidarity. We believe in open discussion, collective decisions and discipline in action. Our weapons are unity and struggle.
CDMS joins and defends struggles against racism, sexism and misogyny, transphobia and queerphobia, ableism, ageism and casteism. We recognise that the ruling colonialist, capitalist, imperialist system relies on strategies of divide and rule to remain in power. We work from a belief in the rights of all marginalised and oppressed groups, and support their right to organise, participate in political action, and exist at the centre of society.
Victory to the Working Class! We are Union!
We are part of the labour movement. We identify with the history of the militant working class struggles against exploitation and oppression.
Capitalism is a system of organised violence and theft. It functions as a relentless attack by the capitalist ruling class against the working class, against students, against middle classes, against Indigenous communities, against marginalised and oppressed communities, and against the planet.
We recognise that the violence of capitalism is directed particularly against the poor. Immigration controls, the police force, and the legal system are used to enforce a structure of inequality and exploitation.
We support the right of workers everywhere to organise and take action, including militant action, to benefit workers and their communities. We organise together with different working class groups, locally and globally, to build united fronts, respecting different political perspectives, to fight together to defeat the capitalists.
We believe that all workers should join together in unions, and that unions need to be controlled by their members. We believe that unions should organise together to defend the rights of all workers, oppressed and marginalised communities, and the planet.
On Police
CDMS considers that the police are part of the armed forces of the Colonialist, Capitalist and Imperialist State. The police enforce Capitalist class rule and therefore they are an essential part of maintaining the oppression and exploitation of workers, Indigenous people, and the majority of the population.
On Fascism
CDMS considers that Fascism is an extreme danger to workers, Indigenous people and oppressed groups and minorities. We believe that Fascism is promoted by capitalism in times of crisis, it organises using hate and violence, and it can't be defeated by debates. Fascist organisations have to be opposed and smashed by the organised working class, in cooperation with Indigenous people and oppressed groups and minorities.
